A Trip To Tanjung Piai-The Southern Most tip of Mainland Asia

Ahad-13 March 2011
Kami memulakan perjalanan melalui Skudai-Pontian expressway tepat jam 11.30 pagi.

We began the journey through the Skudai-Pontian Expressway exactly at 11.30 am. Road conditions are reasonably well just after passing the housing estate with the two-lane. This made our journey a little smoother even though the number of vehicles on the roads is on the rise. Driving the Exora MPV (Auto) with 6 passengers made me not feel tired at all even though we had to go through some small towns such as Pekan Nenas and several villages. The scenary are filled with trees that make our driving not getting bored . We also had the opportunity to see fruits stall selling fruits like durian, jackfruit, pineapple and bananas. Such a panaromic is very common during the fruit season. After 40 minutes of driving, we took to the left to the Tenggayun- Kukup Road heading towards Kukup town. The road condition is somewhat uneven in some places causing a our driving a bit slow . That road is usually quite busy on weekends because many will go to the jetty to the island of Kukup. Fortunately, we just drove for about 10 km before we enter the road to Tanjung Piai. This road looks better than the road to Kukup. There were not many vehicles on the road heading towards Tanjung Piai. Shortly after that we finally arrived to the entrance of Taman Negara Tanjung Piai at around 12:30 PM. After parked our vehicle, we then walked into the National Park Tanjung Piai. There is a walkway made of boards. We started walking in to the southernmost place in Asia. We took a walk for around 563 m before we reached the southern most tip of mainland Asia. My kids seemed to look very excited. We also can take a lot of pictures for memories. We also can see many large ships stop there. We then walked to the fishing jetty. We felt so refreshing. However there is no coverage for my mobile phone. To me, a visit to Tanjung Piai National Park is an enjoyable activity.
